Assessing the Outcome of Mobility Assistive Technology (OMAT) in Daily Living: Preliminary Results in an Italian Sample

Abstract The World Health Organization has defined assistive technologies (AT) as the fourth pillar of global health and supported identifying AT outcomes among five top priorities in research. In this framework, research study OMAT (Outcomes Mobility Assistive Technology rehabilitation pathways) was developed by Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi. aims to develop test applicability a model pathway related prosthetic interventions field mobility: multidisciplinary assessment patients’ needs expectations made at baseline after an adequate period use prescribed devices everyday settings. To date, is ongoing. present work show preliminary results study, particular its primary outcomes. Among recruited subjects (N = 32), most patients (87.5%) received only one product, especially bimanual self-propelled wheelchairs. Patients used products for 3–6 months, with good frequency (few-days/ week) moderate support.
